  5. 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  6. 2-3 cans of small tuna
  7. 2 - Large boiled and grated potatoes
  8. 3 strips of bacon, crumbled
  9. 1 large egg
  10. 2 tablespoons of whole milk or 2%.
  11. 1/2 teaspoon frozen peas
  12. 1/4 teaspoon finely grated carrots
  13. 1/4 teaspoon chopped onion
  14. 1/4 teaspoon unsalted butter
  15. 1/4 teaspoon plain flour
  16. 1/4 teaspoon grated cheddar cheese for garnish
  17. 1 tablespoon. diced red pepper
  18. 1 tablespoon. Green bell pepper, diced
  19. 1 C chopped garlic

Steps to make Southwestern Seared Tuna Fries

  1. Wash potatoes and vegetables.
  2. Boil the large potatoes for 25-30 minutes; Then cool the potatoes completely, this is important. Otherwise, the potatoes will fall apart during cooking.
  3. Once the potatoes have cooled completely; Peel and grate the potatoes very well in a large bowl. Set aside.
  4. Finely chop and dice the vegetables, then fry the onion, garlic and bell pepper for 3 minutes. Set aside. Fry the frozen peas and carrots separately for 3-4 minutes. Set aside.
  5. Cook bacon until crisp, transfer to a paper towel, then crumble and set aside.
  6. Melt the butter in a large saucepan, then stir in the flour and spices. Mix until well combined, then gradually add the milk, mix until well combined. Stir constantly until the sauce thickens. add more milk if necessary.
  7. When the sauce is ready, add the fried peas, carrots, minced ham and tuna, mix well. Set aside.
  8. Now take the grated potatoes and add the fried onion, pepper, egg, salt and pepper and mix until it becomes a patty.
  9. Form into 8- to 1/2-inch patties. Set aside.
  10. Use a large pan, add 2 tbsp. Allow the oil to melt and boil, then add the 4 noodles and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side. Remove, set aside and repeat with the remaining 4 burgers.
  11. Once all the chips are gone. Then heat the sauce to the desired temperature.
  12. Place two or three pancakes in a row on a plate, then slowly pour 1/4 cup of the sauce over the fried ones. Garnish with grated cheese. Enjoy!
